Plastic Surgery Trends for 2020
Plastic surgery has been on the up and up for years. With that, so has its technology. With a new year comes new trends, new advancements, and new ideas. 2019 is almost over, therefore, we can predict the rising trends in 2020. Read more about the predicted plastic surgery trends for 2020 below.
Top Procedures in 2019
According to The American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the top 5 cosmetic procedures in 2019 are
- Breast Augmentation
- Eyelid surgery
- Tummy tuck
The top 5 non-invasive procedures in 2019 are
- Fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, etc.)
- Chemical peel
- Laser hair removal
Body-contouring procedures whether non-invasive or with the use of liposuction will continue to be in the top 5 throughout 2020. This includes butt-lifts and fat transfers. As minimally-invasive procedures continue to rise, we can expect to see more of these new and innovative technologies take over.
Plastic Surgery Trends For 2020
A 3D facelift is a micro-surgery that results in minimal scarring and downtime. This procedure transfers fat from lower parts of the face to add volume to the cheeks for added volume. It’s done under local anesthesia and provides a more natural look than traditional facelifts that can give a “pulled back” look. A 3D facelift is a great alternative for those who are hesitant to go under the knife.
An ultrasonic rhino-sculpture precisely emits ultrasonic energy to reshape the nose without damaging cartilage and soft tissue. This energy emitting device specifically targets the bone and leaves the surrounding tissues unharmed. It’s much safer, less traumatic, and results in little to no swelling or bruising compared to traditional rhinoplasty surgery.
Current rhinoplasty techniques leave a higher risk for irregularities in the bone as well as considerable tissue trauma to both the bone and surrounding tissues. The swelling and bruising ultimately creates a longer healing time and poses a greater risk for tissues healing irregularly as well.
HYBRID BREAST AUGMENTATION
A hybrid breast augmentation procedure is when both an implant and fat transfer is involved. This procedure is most common in women who desire a more natural-looking breast but don’t possess enough fat to reach the desired breast size. However, the main advantage of adding fat to a breast implant is the strategic placement of the fat itself – to soften the edges of the implant and provide a much more natural look.
Basically, everyone is unique, and a hybrid breast augmentation procedure can give a more customized approach. It can be challenging to find an implant that fits your body perfectly and hybrid breast augmentation can be the solution for that.
A lip lift is designed to raise the edges of the lips and define the cupid’s bow to make the mouth look more prominent. It’s a permanent procedure that shortens the space between the top of the lip and the bottom of the nose to fit the face. It can be done in under an hour and gives a more natural look to fuller, plump lips.
Fillers and injectables will continue to be in the top 5 for 2020, especially since new advancements are making longer-lasting injectables. Lasting three to four years, instead of just one to two.
Plastic Surgery Trends For 2020
It seems to be that the trend is natural, non-invasive procedures that enhance one’s natural beauty. New advancements in technology are constantly being introduced to better protect your body and your desired results.
